1 onion, chopped
2 cloves of garlic, chopped
2 tablespoons ginger, grated
2 teaspoons cumin
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon turmeric
1 cup lentils
4 cups vegetable broth
1 can tomatoes
